Reporting to the Director MIS, this position will provide level one technical assistance and support in the installation and maintenance of personal computers, software, network connectivity and the school?s Websites. Essential Functions: ? Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes SchoolDude IT Direct requests and incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies. ? Interviews user to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error. ? Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff. ? Calls software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products. ? Sets up and installs computers, monitors, printers, scanners, and peripherals; relocates existing equipment as necessary. ? Sets up and installs audio-visual equipment such as projectors, speakers, screens, video units, etc. ? Add or upgrades and configures modems, disk drives, CD/DVD drive units, printers and related equipment. ? Troubleshoots and repairs desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, cabling, projectors, and other related devices. ? Maintains desktop, laptop, tablet pc, peripheral, and audio-visual inventory lists. ? Conducts various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications; documents and tracks training. ? Maintains an appropriate inventory of parts and supplies. ? Assists in the computer imaging process. This includes image creations and recommendations as to the software and drivers to include in image creation as well as uploading and downloading of images. ? Installs network cabling as needed. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: ? Frequently lift up to 30 lb. of computer equipment. ? Crawl under or around furniture to install computer equipment. ? Climb ladders and reach to install computer wiring and perform other tasks. ? Works in variety of conditions and climates, ranging from outdoors performing physical labor to in the office at a desk and computer. ? Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts. ? Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines. ? Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens. ? Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.

? Ability to communicate effectively with constituents from the entire school community. ? Ability to troubleshoot and define problems and recommend or implement appropriate solutions. Must have a sense of urgency and customer service orientation. ? Demonstrated knowledge in hardware and software specific to the school. ? Experience with a range of software, hardware, and operating systems including Windows 7, Mac OSX, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite software, and Senior Systems or comparable Student Information System ? Knowledge of cabling and set-up for technical systems ? High school diploma and trade school degree, or appropriate certifications, required; Computer Science degree preferred. ? Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position or equivalent education, training and experience. ? Must demonstrate and support the School?s Mission. ? Willingness to perform in a manner that reflects positively on The Bolles School. ? Must have the ability and willingness to communicate well, work congenially, and deal effectively with all school personnel and school families, as well as with the larger business and educational community. ?
